The Gaming Giant Recruits Apex Legends Developer to Revitalize Challenged Hero Shooter Project Ethos

2K Games has welcomed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently developing the upcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.

Leadership Shift Follows Poor Response

The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' disappointing early showing last fall.

Recently, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated team members about this organizational change through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had revealed the requirement for a clearer direction.

Ismailer expressed that the team is now reimagining Project Ethos with a revised vision, aiming to better meet gamer demands.

Trend of Key Acquisitions

This announcement follows a comparable action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Here is the complete content from Ismailer's memo:
