A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from spring of that year.

Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
